You might have noticed that Rocket Badge sets a minimum order quantity of 100 for our custom enamel badges. But here’s the thing — while that’s our standard minimum, it’s not a hard rule. If you absolutely need fewer, we can make it happen. It’ll just come with a higher price tag. And once you understand what goes into making a badge, you’ll see why.

Every enamel badge we make starts life as raw metal that’s shaped, plated, coloured, and polished through a surprisingly intricate process. First, we create a precision-engineered mould for your design — a piece of tooling that takes time, machinery, and skill to produce. The metal is then stamped or cast into shape, plated in your chosen finish (gold, silver, black nickel — take your pick), and filled with enamel by hand. Each colour is fired or cured at high temperatures, before the badges are sanded, polished, fitted, and individually inspected.

That’s a lot of setup — and those setup costs are the same whether we’re making ten badges or ten thousand. By the time you spread those fixed costs across a smaller batch, your price per badge would soar. Our 100-piece minimum hits the sweet spot: low enough for smaller campaigns, but high enough to keep your unit price sensible and your badge quality exceptional.

Of course, if you really do need fewer — maybe it’s a limited edition or a VIP-only design — we’ll find a way. Just know that your cost per badge will reflect the time, labour, and expertise that still go into each one.

And speaking of expertise — we care deeply about how our badges are made. All our production partners are rigorously audited through SMETA, BSCI, and WRAP, as well as our own in-person checks. We uphold strict ethical standards, from fair wages and safe conditions to zero tolerance for forced or child labour. Plus, as a Climate Positive business, we’re actively reducing our environmental impact across every stage of production.

So yes, our minimum is 100 — but it’s not just about quantity. It’s about craftsmanship, value, and ethics. Because when your brand’s name is on it, every badge should be one you’re proud of.
